MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
1. 6+ months experience of working in an A&E department
2. Current (within last 6 months) evidence based practice
3. Phlebotomy & wound management
4. Management of trolley waits
5. Reporting of major incidents
6. Effective communication skills (written, non-verbal & verbal)
7. Good interpersonal skills
8. Able to work as an affective team member
9. Able to manage difficult situations - remains calm under pressure
10. Uses own initiative and is able to take decisions
11. Self motivated
12. Able to assess, plan, implement & evaluate programmes of care
13. Sound clinical skills
14. Able to maintain clear and legible documentation
15. Committed to educational studies and learning new skills
16. Able to maintain patient confidentiality
17. Able to respond in a rapidly changing environment/ emergency situations
18. Practices within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct
19. Basic drug knowledge
20. Promote people’s equality, diversity & rights
